SLA is a leadership program for Stand By Me mentoring program students K-12th grade designed to raise the expected outcomes for our at-risk students by creating opportunities for them to become leaders in the community.

Students meet four days a week for seven weeks and focus on building character, bible literacy, critical thinking, they grow in their faith, and develop real leadership and service skills they can carry into the future.

Over the seven weeks students are exposed to motivational speakers, small group discussions, field trips, businesses, college campuses, and other places to help them learn and visualize a life beyond their circumstances. Children also are able to attend a week of summer Christian camp.

Due to its success, SBM SLA has been endorsed by the Boerne Independent School District (BISD).

Summer Leadership Academy
